Turkington Martin are part of the RIBA competition winning team, led by Cullinan Studio, for a new Community Cluster at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool. The project will bring together a range of clinical and operational support services, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, Neuro Assessment and Psychology Outpatients Departments. Our design strategy reinforces Alder Hey's vision for “a parkland community for children” and encourages visual and physical contact with plants and green spaces as a catalyst for improving children’s mental health and well-being. The new building is set around a multi-sensory courtyard garden facing out over the new park that allows visitors and staff to fully engage with the landscape.
