Thamesmead

Masterplan for over 1500 homes which forms the first phases of Peabody’s plans for the wider regeneration of Thamesmead.

The masterplan is formed around a linear sequence of public spaces which links Abbey Wood Elizabeth Line station with the existing lake at Southmere where a new lakeside square provides a civic and commercial focus.

Water is a central theme within the public realm reflecting its historical significance in the local landscape. Surface water is captured and celebrated within the streets in the form as open decorative channels, rain gardens, canals and fountains.
