This dramatic atrium provides a mediating space between the new Queen's terminal building and multi-storey car park. Passengers pass through the 35m high courtyard on high level walkways affording elevated views into the space and to ‘Slipstream’, the dramatic suspended sculpture by Richard Wilson. The design of the floorscape is an abstract expression of an aerial view of the landscape controlled by a linear grid. The courtyard accommodates pedestrian and service vehicle movements.
