Two of the key defining characteristics at Aperture Works are the generosity of open space and the Green Link, an extensively planted linear park that will eventually connect Headstone Drive with Headstone Manor.

Phase 1 will see the start of the park, where trees, shrubs and meadow grass will combine with meandering footpaths, sitting and play areas to provide a green, tranquil space and a safe, car-free route through the site.

At the heart of Phase 1 is the Central Green, which comprises a generous open space, planted flower gardens, with plenty of seating and exciting children’s play space. Between the green and linear park the space opens out to create a local neighbourhood square. This is designed as a flexible space, to allow for the café to spill out into the sunshine and as a venue for managed and informal events.
